I have checked my engine for bad timming it's sent to book , compression good . but i still only getting about 2250 on static rpm and 2550 rpm level flight .
could the carb have the wrong ventura in it ? what would be the proper ventura for the o-300.
ALSO TAKE A LOOK AT YOUR OUTBOARD GEAR BLOCKS .
THIS AIRPLANE I JUST BOUGHT HAD INTERGRANULAR CORROSION IN BOTH SIDES.
AT ANNUAL I KNOW MOST OF THIS ARE NOT BEING LOOKED AT ,IT IS IN A HARD TO SEE SPOT. iF YOU TAKE A MIRROR AND STRONG FLESH LIGHT TAKE THE INSPECTION COVER ON TOP OF THE GEAR BOX OFF. THEN PUT THE MIRROR UNDER THE BOTTOM SIDE OF THE GEAR LEG YOU CAN SEE : NOTICABLE WILL BE A CRACK WRIGHT DOWN THE SIDES AT THE EDGE OF THE GEAR .
MY RIGHT SIDE WAS SO BAD THAT THE BOTTOM ANGLE FELL OFF.
DON'T JUST LOOK AT THE TOP SIDE IT WILL LOOK PERFECT THE BOTTM IS THE SPOT.
one last thing does any body out there retemper the spring steel landing gear . i have two sets one is far the other needs some more spring .
