Hi

Welcome. Yes, there are quite a few modelers here

The logo on the tail is a Cessna 50th aniversery (1927-1977) logo. It is basically just a "50" surrounded by a olive branch.

I've been doing some searching, and the closest image I could find was:

http://www.aviation-antiques.com/misc-5.html

if you scroll about 2/3 the way down the page, there is an ashtray with the logo.

Hi Jonesy401,

We are the owners of the original aircraft, called: "Coladose"(english: Cokecan). If you want further information about the original aircraft, tell us....
For its birthday, we were flown to africa with it. As we came home, we´ve made a big party and one of us was showing a video that he has made during our travel.
All friends on the party were very pleased with the presentation.
This year, our plane has received a new engine, a Continental O-300. We gave names to all 6 cylinders, the names of the former chancellors of germany.
With the new engine, now it flies like a rocket...

We hope, that you still fly the model. We have seen the video at youtube, really awesome. The landing is the same as we do
crosswinds make it very difficult to land.
By the way: Wanna see more pictures?, simply google for: Flugsportfreunde Saarlouis

@ iceman07: this is not true, really. the numbers are 1954-2004 and not 1927-1977.
Because the plane was built 1954. sh.t, one year later, we figured out that is is built 1952 !!

Best regards to all,
the Coladose-crew

Nice looking plane and engine installation! I've attached some of your engine photos below. But vas ist das? Shouldn't the hottest cylinder be named Angela Merkel?

Personally, I'd save the names of former politicians for the side of a hot air balloon.

Hi,

Well, but we have only 6 cylinders and in the case of Angie, we need 3 additional cylinders: 1 for Angela herself and 2 for her boobs...
however, 2 of 6 chancellors are still alive(Kohl, Schmidt) and Helmut Schmidt is over 90 years old and he smokes a pack of cigarettes every day... :!:

Rotec's 150 H.P. 9 cylinder radial would solve your problem but it might get expensive! Would make for a great-looking mini Cessna 195.
