Hey all,
I found 2 NOS Yokes (just the yokes, no shafts) that my mechanic had on a back wall. Of course, I wanted to buy them and replace my 150 yokes....until, he told me that the book price was $832 each and, he would take $416 each for them

. Then he said, think about it and make me an offer. Um, does that sound even close to being correct? If so, I think that I'll keep flying the 150 yokes. Thoughts????

Actually the PN has been superceded and they are now (List Price: $ 1,089.00)
The rivets which hold the yokes upon the shaft are PN 0413216 (priced $32) and 0413216-1 (priced $103) and are included in the factory packaging. Deduct $135 from each yoke.
More seriously, I think they are probably worth about $150 - $200 ea. You can obtain excellent condition salvage yokes for slightly less than that ($125 is commonly reported) and you can paint or powder coat them for less than addt'l $25 and they are as good as new.
(It's also unlikely to be much market for NOS yokes (due to foolishness, IMO) and he hasn't much chance to sell them. You are in a bargaining position.) If my airplane didn't have original yokes I'd try to get 'em.
CAUTION: Be CERTAIN they are all METAL and not later 172
plastic!
Originals are aluminum. They can be painted with DuPont Imron and clearcoated and they will be as good as new. (Powdercoating can be a bit more difficult due to surface imperfections, depending upon actual condition.)

If they are Cessna original NOS in new condition, you will not need to refinish them. I had my old original yokes powder coated (which cost $200) and the guy said he had never had more trouble removing an old coating.
The powder coat guy said it would be almost impossible to match the original Cessna yoke color with powder coat.

I had a set powdercoated and they are great. Coated them with a rough finish.
