I agree with John! Send Doug a copy of that shot for the calendar!
What's the drag rope on the tail? Do you use it for moving the a/c around in the snow?
John, had your cub out on skiis yet? We've definitely got enough snow this year......

Yep -- a couple of times now. Flew to Balsam Lake, WI (no airport there!!) for lunch on Saturday. This is the best skiing year since I first tried it!
My best to you and Becky!
John

Merry Christmas everyone!
It is a very different Christmas for Ina and I this year, we were both supposed to be in Texas for Christmas but we both got stranded by bad weather last Sunday and will not be able to fly back to Texas until next Sunday! Ina went to visit her folks and newborn nephew in Portland and I came back to Alaska to check on the house, enjoy some winter weather, visit with friends and pay bills. But on Sunday when we were supposed to go back to Texas, the weather turned bad in Seattle and Portland and both of our flights were cancelled. It's the chance you take travelling this time of year. At least we are warm and comfortable and not sleeping at the airport.
The rest of flights this week were already booked solid for the holidays before the cancellations and with the folks who were cancelled before we were, it just didn't work out to get back to Texas before Christmas.
Don't feel sorry for us though, Ina is in good hands with her family and I have been rescued by friends both for Christmas eve dinner and for Christmas dinner today. Santa even left me a present or two!
Portland still has lots of snow and it's snowing right now in Anchorage so we both are having a white Christmas after all. I even had a moose cow and her 2-year old calf visit the yard a few days ago. The house picture was taken on the shortest day of the year at about 2:00pm so you can see we get about 5 hours of sunlight even on the shortest day.
Hope everyone is having a merry Christmas.

I was snooping around on the "supercub" forum and think I read a line or two about the "drag rope" It is supposed to keep the tail ski aligned with the direction of flight. Only the photo here is "sans" the tail ski so maybe you are right Kyle - - he flies low and slow to troll for big fish! ! !
