George, didn't your teacher tell you the story of the boy who cried "Wolf" to many times? Or is this a page out of the politicians book on how to scare Gar into submission?

Last nite (when I first posted the radar) there was a SOLID RED LINE of BARBED WIRE and LAND MINES heading for the TX/LA border.
Now it appears to have diminished and is sitting on the AL/GA line.
Haven't heard from Ol'Gar yet today, so don't know if he and Deana survived.

Yep, an inch+ of snow in (not so) sunny Tehachapi this morning for the second time this week. I'd guess that moisture is headed your way...

I didn't know why I needed a current national radar picture on the 170 site, but now that it's there, I find myself using it more and more. Once you start using something, you might find you need it! :D

Thanks, George!

When I need to look at weather I have about 5 sites I would look at. None of them would be here. When I think weather I don't think 170 forum.

It is a nice little picture up in the upper right corner to reference while I'm reading the forum though. Every know and then reading George's post I wonder if he's getting rained on

Well, OK Bruce, I don't actually need it. But it's nice, and I find myself looking at it more and more (I go to the 170 site more often than I check weather), so I thought I'd say something nice about it. Thanks again, George! :D

ga horn will you quit sendin your nasty wx over here. We had another doozy last nite. Lots of downed power lines and trees - - and, while trying to clear the downed trees off several local roads, "dispatch" paged us out for two MVAs almost simultaneously. One MVA had 3 fatals and one critical! The other one was caused by livestock on the hiway and a car, trying to dodge the cows, spun out in front of a log truck! This MVA had two with criticalinjuries. Bruce you would have shuddered to listen to the SO trying to decide which "wreck" they were responding to and where the LZ for the "bird" was being set up and how to get 3 ambulances for 6 or 7 injured . Of course when the initial assessment was modified to eliminate the fatalities for transport, things got a little less complicated. What a night! ! !

This is my "go to" WX page (when we have electricity!) ......... http://www.wunderground.com/wundermap

This 'link' has been abbreviated from the one in my bookmark because of the length. My bookmark opens the map up right in our locale.......... This site is very interactive and has many good features to help us get ready for severe weather.

How disappointing you don't have a generator to guarantee you have electricity to monitor these forums while checking the weather that is snapping trees all about your area. Your probably sneaking out to the hanger to remove the weed whacker you've been storing in your 170 as well.
