Another Question for you Franklin guys

OK, I found that the valves may have been incorrectly set on the initial run up of this engine.....Set the valves as per book...still run like crap.....Then one morning I woke up from a dream (working on this engine) (Warrens wife calls it a nightmare) All of the sudden it made sense to me....When having the cylinders overhauled Warren had the upper spark plugs changed from front (not right on a Stinson 108) to rear.....Of course the flame front has changed.....It was like an epiffney......changed the right mag from 26 degrees to 30 and run like a champ......Drop on the right mag was 25 RPM and the drop on the left was 75.......until the engine warmed up......then we found a 200 RPM Drop on both, once again.....back into the hanger and opened, what I have been calling our problem child cylinder's valve cover.....almost no oil came out. Now this exhaust lifter is screwed down about 1/8 th of an inch further than the intake. And all the other rockers are set to almost the same depth as the intake......It makes me wonder if the ledge on the one cup...(I call a cam Fowler) is worn and not allowing the one lifter to pump enough oil to the cylinder top?....... This probably has nothing to do with the missing.....It's just another anomaly I need to check and rectofy........any help will be very well welcomed.....Thanks ...Brad
