Just thought some would get a kick out of this:

http://newsminer.com/news/2009/jun/24/p ... ar-manley/
--------------------, 49, of Alaska, and ---------------------, 33, of Texas, have each been charged with two counts of felony drugs misconduct in connection with growing marijuana at the Eureka Gold Mine.

The marijuana would then be put in duffle bags and flown out on ----------'s Cessna 170B. The operation processed 10 pounds of marijuana per week and sold for $4,000 per pound, according to the complaint.
Not a member by the way. Huh.

Well it won't be long before growing marijuana in California just might be legal and taxable. These two poor ole boys might be considered intrepreneurs by the end of 2010. Funny how Government thinking changes as the need for revenues increases. A high school buddy of mine did a year in the San Diego County jail for possession of marijuana in 1969 (a felony then), while the guys in the hooch next to mine smoked it freely - the Army has come a long way since the end of the draft.

At $40,000-per load they ain't exactly "poor old boys". What's legal in Texas (owning a handgun) will put you in the penitentiary in NYC. Gotta obey the local fuzz.

At the prices quoted, like "Multi Million", etc., the guy sure operates with a humble flying machine.

I'll pitch in with the Amsterdam scene, nice downtown with thousands of visitors and a small pall of smoke over the downtown core. No one seems to mind, its not sold to minors and it has not ruined society over here. I have heard concerns about people driving under the influence that seems to be the only downside. Another concern is driving under the influence of alcohol not on the roads but on the thousands of trails and dedicated bike paths through the city. In either case drunk in a car or on a bike and you lose your license for a long time.
I don't smoke, like my beer and wine and I leave the keys at home, don't care what others do but think that those that profit on Meth and the like are a perfect way to get rid of gunpowder.
Seems that the argument that the mind goes soft with smoking has been dispelled, as Blueldr points out he made lots but still could identify the best plane to own.
