Yes that is an authentic JN4D "Jenny". Well as authentic as they get as I'm sure this airplane contains the largest collection of original "Jenny" parts still taking to the air. It is powered by a genuine OX5.

The twin pusher on the ground is a tandem seat open cockpit homebuilt done up in a Coast Guard scheme. The Jenny lives at the Golden Age Air Museum in Bethel, PA and can be seen there about every weekend. The twin pusher was there for the weekend fall fly-in.

Thanks be to the aerial gods who inspire people like that to pursue and persevere in keeping such machines operational. What would the world be like without folks like that?

I've watched this Jenny take shape over the last seven years from what would amount to a box full of wooden parts to an airworthy airplane. Think of the finest wood furniture you've seen created and that is what the inside of this thing looks like. Every part that had to be made painstakingly manufactured by hand to blueprints. Paul Sr. and Paul Jr. do not take any shortcuts. It is an original part or one exactly duplicating it or it is not on the aircraft.

This aircraft could push the finest Smithsonian example out the door and take its place. And we get to help push it around the grass and watch it fly. And if you look at the web site you will see the Jenny is not the only aircraft they fly.

Bruce, here are a few more pics taken by a fellow who also attended. As I posted on another website, what the east lacks in mountains it apparently makes up for in beautiful grass airports.

Z you are right this is a beautiful field and lots of nice area around it to fly. The fly-in events are a must be there event. Not so big you can't handle them. This one threatened by weather brought out only about 40 airplanes plus the museum collection. The thing is you never now what will show up. We've seen a Ryan M-1 which I rode in. Much of Steve Pitcairan's collection before he past away. And on at least one occasion Everitt Dupont has brought his uncle's unrestored Hellcat. And occasionally we have a few 170s there as well.

Hey Z do you have the float kit for the Driffter? It looks like a lot of fun!

Its not a big deal but I spelled it wrong. It started out as "Leza Air Cam" and then must have changed to Lockwood. I think you can get a special endorsement and can fly this plane without a multiengine rating. Anyway looks like fun.

Totally fun plane!!! My good friend built and fly's this one. http://www.aircamsite.com It's like a 200 H.P. canoe with wings!! (2-100 HP Rotex) Climbs like... well... I think we are about 800 ft half way down the runway! Here's a link to his site. Last I checked you do need a multi-engine rating. I seriously considered being a partner in this when he got a second plane, but I really prefer the old stuff...
