The 170 used in the 1954 sci-fi classic "Them!" (a very good film) is well-known to most 170 buffs.

So tonight I watched "Tarantula", from 1955. Not nearly as good as "Them", but John Agar plays a Arizona doctor with a 170; great shot of a bouncy landing in the beginning, and later in the film during a take-off I read N8157A under the left wing - she's still with us, based in CA.
Wonder if the present owner knows he owns a movie star?

If you see the movie, watch for Clint Eastwood as the Air Force F-80 pilot who leads the attack on the the giant spider!

Anybody know the 170 in "Them!"? I've tried freezing every frame that had any indication of the N number but never could figure it out! Just curious!!!
