Did anyone ever get a count of how many 170's were in the reserved parking area? Overall?

I think I counted 24. Our three reserved rows 74-76 had 8, 7 and 6 respectively, and there were three in row 73.

I would have thought there would have been more at OSH. I don't remember how many of us were there last year, but there were 28 or so plus my straight tail at the convention. No doubt the economy is having its impact. A friend of mine who goes every year said there were gaps in aircraft in several areas this year. If we don't get things straightened out in DC it may be worse next year

A few more 170 guys would have liked to join us but there wasn't room. I heard that they parked the first few 170 arrivals too far apart, but I'm not sure the total accumulated gaps in any one row would have added up to an extra airplane. I did meet a couple of other members who parked elsewhere. I was pleased to see that the 170 rows stayed largely intact until late in the week. Then a Champ arrived, a Bonanza, and a Comanche.
The event overall did seem kind of slow to me, but by the weekend the place was packed with people, if not airplanes. It's not like it was in the olden days, when aircraft parking filled by Saturday before opening day, and the place was a ghost town by the following Saturday. EAA has succeeded in spreading out the event to make better use of the full week. I miss the old days, but I think this works well.

I'd agree with Dave - it seemed like attendance was down a bit.
Becky and I were unable to get there until Friday morning. We had a great spot only 6-8 rows back from Theater in the Woods. Walking in the buildings was not difficult like it has been. Some vendor booths were open. And by Sat many a/c had left and Sunday the place was pretty quiet.
All in all, we do like OSH. We enjoy the show, seeing old friends and meeting new ones. In our opinion, EAA does a pretty nice job of organizing stuff.
Wish we could make this and the IC170 convention but can't always do both.....
