Are any of you paint experts out there able to explain the difference in applying metalic paints as compared to standard paints??? Equipment?? Technique?? What to do, what not to do????

A couple of things come to mind. Don't get any runs or hangars. If it's a base coat clearcoat it's a bit easier as the basecoat can be carefully fogged on to avoid runs. You can't sand it and then rub it out. Keep a marble or large nut or something in the pot and shake it frequently. Most metallics will have the metallic particles "stand" directionally depending on the angle of the gun head when applying and then a later panel patch is hard to match even with the same can of paint. It will reflect light differently. Good luck.
