Hi, I am currently a Champ owner and looking to purchase a 170B. I'm interested in learning what to look for, including positives and negatives, when purchasing a 170B. For example, should I only buy a 170B with 180 legs? Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks, Eric

180 legs are a nice addition but aren't necessary, if you are flying off pavement the 1st gen or lady legs are fine, dirt and gravel
or rough strips 180 gear is nice, but there are a lot of other items you might want, and those are to many to list. You can find some good airplanes out there with out 180 legs. Be aware there are two different types of 180 gear (old style and axel forward), the axle forward puts more weight on the tail wheel and that with a old style tail wheel bracket may cause problems down the line.
