Edgar,

I have had these installed on my C170A.
The parts came (second hand) from an early model C172.
My aircraft mechanic installed them with a minimum of fuss and now they look like they have always been there. 8)
Don't forget the footrest thingeys for the struts.
They work well. :D

Edgar, the Assn has a copy of an approved 337 (Anchorage 1989) for installation of shop-fabricated boot cowl steps. They'll send ya a copy for a buck.
I was gonna put some on my ragwing, but found that I could get by without them. I step up on the tire, then onto the wing strut right at the fuselage. I open the window so I have something to hold on to. Works OK for checking fuel level, but is awkward if you're gonna try to gas up.

I have installed the ones right out of the 180- 185 parts book.
