Remember today is Pearl Harbor Day, December 7, 1941, the day that will live in infinity, honoring all our lives lost and the start of the greatest of all wars.

And honoring all the lives that dealt with the aftermath. My granddad was stationed in the aluestion (SP?) islands, (anyway, those islands on the sw coast of AK) when it happened. He was tranferred to Hawaii for cleanup. Never talked about it

George,

I knew exactly what the President said, but like others have guessed, I could not remember how to spell INFAMY. :D

Dang, I missed it last night. I thought George was making fun of the way I spelled Ah-loo-shan.
Although, now that I think about it, I like "live in infinity" as much as "infamy"

Well then, you better go dig FDR up and slap his face.

"Infinity" implies "without bounds" or "regardless of time"... so the Japanese could feel pride in the fact that their act of treachery glorified that date and could be without bounds forever?

I think FDR said it right the first time.

That was my whole point George; that the day would live on in OUR memories "without bounds" and "regardless of time". I know you're right George, the correct word in FDR's famous quote is infamy. I only gave an opinion that I like "live in infinity" as much as "infamy".
I would not dig him up and slap him for his choice of words
