After 15 years, a British farmer’s quest to find a squadron of legendary fighter planes lost in Burma during World War II has finally paid off.

It sure would be fun to see a squadron of Griffon-powered Spits, but somewhere I read they think there may be only enough good parts to get a couple of them flying. A British friend of mine said this:
Not sure I could afford 70 imperial gallons an hour of gas now that I am retired. Avgas prices here are typically £2.10 a litre now, that’s $12.72 for a US gallon! Those MK 14 Spitfires with their 2000 horse Griffon engines will need $1068 of fuel for an hours ride. A gallon or two of oil as well. Big pockets needed.
