Yes I am the guy with the new O300 case and a lot of other new parts. Case yellow tagged, crank and cam yellow tagged by Rick Roman, new TCM cyls, acc case ck'ed by divCo, new thru bolts and all other TCM bullitins complied with. HOW DOES ONE MAKE THE PROPER LOG BOOK ENTRY. My IA says no way to the overhaul write up. ? What else do you call it. He want's to write up an attachment with everything we did. Advise appreciated.

You didn't really say if you overhauled the engine or in other words made sure all tolerances were in spec. From your simple discription it sounds like you may have but the IA doesn't want to call it an overhaul. Could it be he doesn't want his name associated with an overhaul? This may be the case cause he doesn't want the liability and or doesn't have insurance to cover him on a major overhaul. The work may be fine.
I'd ask point blank, why the work doesn't meet overhaul standards and if so why he won't sign.

FAR 43.2 is very specific about the work scope req'd in order to describe an "overhaul". Unless the work complies with that exact rule, then the word "overhaul" may not be used. (In everyone's library, there should be a current copy of the regs, but regs may also be viewed at http://www.faa.gov/ )
