George has gone off the deep end. See for yourself. He's exported his airplane back to El Salvador and ruined it. At least it's still RED!
Kind of eerie that there another 1953 Cessna 170 down there with such a similar registration to George's airplane in its original form AND has a baggage door.

One piece windshield modified nose bowl probably for a vacuum pump, later interior wing route vents, strut fairings, longer exhaust stacks. More and more modifications found, more and more just like George's Original Not '53.

At least it doesn't have a God-forsaken heated pitot, nor does it have exhaust extensions or a different engine.
Come to think of it, when was the last time anyone saw George's airplane? I say he's guilty until proven innocent. Picture of himself holding today's paper under the right wing (to confirm additional light) of his airplane is what we'll need to settle this mess and make this little embarrassment go away.
That baggage door looks different too. Maybe I'm not seeing right, or could be poor photo. When I try to zoom in it gets blurry It looks like it is installed an inch lower than where it should be, which is impossible

El Salvador. George's airplane was exported there directly from the factory as YS-146. This is also a 1953 model, and YS-146P. Not sure if a batch of them were exported down or what.
A couple years ago I trained the President of El Salvador's pilot in the simulator at DFW. We had an interesting discussion about what it might take to obtain the original documents my airplane carried when exported to El Salvador by Cessna. (That country retains original documents when/if the airplane is ever exported from El Salvador. They provide microfiche copies of the documents but the actual paper is retained by them.... or at least, that used to be the case. I have the microfiche but would love to have the original equip list, etc etc.)
It's interesting to see another 170B down there with such a closely matched number.
Thanks for posting!
