Avcon Conversion
Is the cowling and nose bowl the same from a 170A to 170B? Also is it possible to replace the Avcon nose bowl with the Del-Air one? Any info is appreciated.

Re: Avcon Conversion
Most people think the cowl from '48 to '52 B model is the same. And it is except for the lip at the bottom aft is 3/4" starting best I can tell in '51. Earlier lips are just over 2" and commonly thought to be a seaplane lip but in fact where standard. After '52 the cowl changed.
As for the AVCON to Del-Air nose bowl swap, I'd ca,, Del-Air and ask.

Re: Avcon Conversion
And let us know what Chris at DelAir says, because some of us with Avcon nose bowls would like to switch to DelAir.
