Seaplane kit parts

Post by 170tw »

Hi!
Might any of you know if the seaplane kit parts from a 170-A are the same as the parts for a 170-B?
Sincerely,
Mark

Hi Mark,
Yes, the seaplane kit is the same for both models. Figure 61 on page 108 of the C-170A IPC refers to print 0541125 at the top of the part itemization. It is found here in the Mx Library. The print is labeled as for the C-170B but there is at least one reference to differences on the 170A as shown here:

I think — but have not studied it close enough — that you will also find differences in cowling part numbers. Joel, aka “marathonrunner”, is the authority on anything to do with floats on 170’s as he developed and holds the STC for Aerocet floats on the plane. If I had any questions regarding floats he’s the one I’d ask.

Thankyou! Although float parts are hard to come by, this helps and opens a few doors. I haven't found a 170 that I want to buy with the things I would like to have on it so looking at other options to make one.
