180 hp STC owners

Post by ghostflyer »

Today having a BIG clean out of all my aviation theory books ,exams papers, assignments I found a sheet of paper dated back in 2001 with the STC no. SAO1111CH and having mentioned on it a James T Hancock of Minnesota . This STC was for the fitment of a 180hp lycoming with a Hartzell prop. So my question is does any body know about this STC or what happen to it ? .

The third character is a "zero" rather than an "Oh".

This STC is still available from Hartzell. Hancock is listed the FAA's airmen database. Was he the guy who signed off the installation of the Hartzell prop?

It looks to me if you buy the prop, the STC comes with it and is the STC to install the prop only. If so, the engine would have to be installed per some other STC.

I like the note at the bottom which says installation available for additional charge.

So maybe......I take my O300-D powered 170 to Hartzell and they install a Lycoming 0-360 and a prop? Dream on broomstick cowboy!
