Hi All,
New to the Forum and I am an A&P that is maintaining a 170B in Vermont. FYI, great turn out at KFSO for the convention. I live 10 min away and do a flightline check on the weekends. Had some beautiful airplanes. Anyways, this 170B has the AVCON 190 STC and the exhaust is shot. Looking for a replacement from Acorn or AWI, I am told there are 3 different versions for the tailpipe and the hole for the cowling. Acorn wants me to send the old muffler to them to get the right one. I am just trying to verify a part number. I am also currently have a 172A in annual that also has the STC but it has ALL the blueprints with it. That STC also illustrates the 170B in the drawings. The Muffler it came with was the 15006-2. Can anyone verify that the -2 Avcon Muffler was correct for the 170B STC?
Thanks for the help.

Welcome!
Yes, Avcon drawing #17000 and the Kit Parts List #17025 shows the exhaust to be p/n 15006-2 on STC SA806CE. The Parts List also lists four "stack" p/n's: 15006-22, -24, -26, and -28.

For what it’s worth, I see that Del-Air has STC SA3797WE to replace the Avcon muffler with an Elano muffler, p/n 099001-63F.

Thanks for all the help. We sent the muffler and risers to AWI. They came back beautiful and fit like a glove.
