how much are a pair of metal wheel pants with backing plates in nice condition worth ?

"Nice condition" is a fairly subjective term. What's nice for one person could be lousy for someone else and pretty good for another.
For a pair of wheel pants, I've seen them advertised for $500-800 with dents, cracks, or other repairs. I've also seen them advertised for $1200-1500 for ones in mint condition with all the hardware (no dents/dings/cracks/ or repairs of any kind).
It really depends on their condition and what the buyer is willing to pay.
