Autopilot STC's
Are there many autopilots available for the 170 line? I note that the century I is available, but S-tec did not appear to be. What are thoughts on buying a used autopilot?
Thanks!

Autopilot for 170's
Brittan makes an auto pilot for 170's that is a wing leveler coupled to the DG. Its nice when you are IFR or VFR and need to look at a map or check on the kids in the back seat. It's easy to put in and all you need is an A&P mechanic to sign it off, as it's STC'd. As my aircraft has been damaged in a ground loop, I will be selling the auto pilot complete with turn/bank and DG for $1,500 (Over $4,000 new 6 years ago) Tom ---- classpix@execpc.com

Re: Autopilot for 170's
Even an item that is "STC'd" will require an A&P-IA to submit a Form 337. But at least it's an approved alteration.Classic170 wrote:Brittan makes an auto pilot for 170's that is a wing leveler coupled to the DG.
