Post by taildrager »

I am aproaching retirement age and looking for a nice 170 B to haul my butt around in. Located near Monterey, CA where the weather is part time VFR. I am interested in stc'd engine mods and stol mods too. Might even risk flying to Wisconson someday. I started as a kid flying 7acs and j3s. I helped my dad rebuild his 1940 Aeronca chief 11ac and had lots of fun flying that. I did most of the initial flying as he was not licensed. Always wanted a 170 just because it is a class flying machine. Alan
I am 53, done raising two boys as a single father and am looking forward to getting back into flying. I soloed at 16, PP at 17 way back in 1969. Like tail wheel airplanes and lots of VFR weather.

Alan, Welcome to the group! :D

Mine's NOT for sale but if ever get down toward Tehachapi, I'll be glad to give you some stick time in my '55 B-model. Just give me a call or shoot me an email to make sure I'll be around. My contact info is in the membership directory.

Also, watch the Events forum for announcement of the California North/South 170 fly-in. I think Duane Shockey is planning on holding it in Santa Ynez in September.

Happy Hunting, Miles
