John asked me to tell everyone that the 170 parking at OSH is FULL. He has 48 reserved spots and 2 on the wait list.

So how many 170's flew into Oshkosh? I heard from a 172 returning home that their were a bunch of 170's....

Sounds fun! I would like to hear more about it?
The 170's were all parked together on grass?
And these 170's owners were camped out beside their planes in a constant social. Went all week long? Did ya'll have a good time?
Did the group parking work well, so that we will continue to do this?

What a great time!!

Mike Woodson from Seattle WA (in his C180...if you saw our camp you know we needed a 'mule') & I arrived Tuesday PM - July 19th, set up our 'home' and settled in. There were less than a dozen planes on the field at the time. As the week progressed, our 170's arrived and took their positions in our reserved area...and a mighty nice area at that! Great view of the show, close to food, bathrooms and showers. The ground personnel knew how to handle those who lost or had not rec'd the pass card. They had a master list and radios. As Sunday rolled in, they gave us one more day to fill open spots due to bad wx around the country. When the time came, we had to release 10 open spots for 'no-shows'. Even those who did not have a reservation were relocated if wanted to. Thank you to the EAA Parkers.

I had an opportunity to meet most everyone who arrived. (I had to leave on Wednesday noon). We sure have a group of nice looking and actively flying planes.

EAA will try to allow our group to park together every 2-3 yrs. They must rotate the area with other type clubs.

Thank you all who came by my camp an introduced yourselves. Bad wx kept the evening sing-a-longs restricted, but there will be next year...

This was one of the best years in my OSH history. I hope it was for you also.

If any of you have digital photos, I would like a copy to add to my album for this years' event. Please attach them to an e-mail to me at john@NielsenFord.com I will collate all and make a CD with all for distribution.

AND...
Congratulations to Don Lindholm of AZ!! He was awarded Outstanding in type 170/180 at OSH this year. Don parked with our group and was one of many that made people envious of a great looking plane that is useful and fun.

See you all again soon!!
