I put 4 guys in mine. Had a nice long runway and 3 guys needing a ride back to the airport after a dropping off their warbirds for display at an airshow. The 170 got off quicker than I thought but climb rate was dismall to say the least. Heavy 170's are not what I consider a lot of fun to fly but it is surprising what they will do. Of course I would never fly over gross. Congradulations on your purchase and I hope you see fit to join the association. There is a lot of good info on this site and in the association publications. Welcome and good luck you should have lots of fun ahead of you. Bill K
