For you history buffs and former aviators in Vietnam, you might find this link to LT Jack Rittichier, USCG interesting. He was a CG aviator serving with the Air Force, flying Jolly Greens. The article mentions the skyraider pilots as well ......

Hi Chuck,
You are showing your age talking about F-104’s. Cool airplane. They had them at Luke AFB where I went through F-100 training. The Germans were training in them. Now I’m showing my age.
Jim O’Neil is going to give me some dual in my 170B/180hp on Wipline 2100’s when I go to Fairbanks the first of the week to pick it up. Mark Hasner and his partner Nathan at Chena Marina Air Service did the annual and mounted it on floats. I have a whopping 20+ hours on floats so I need a bunch of sharpening up before I bring it here to the bush.
I don’t know Jim well but he seems like a nice guy.
Why don’t you PM me more info and I’ll tell him I “talked†to you. I’ll also send you copies of the Locher mission if you’d like.
Best regards, Buck
