Thanks everyone for your replies, and thank you George for consulting with your engineer son on the subject. It seems then that the wet snow would cause the most reason for concern, as well as the freeze\thaw cycles causing ice buildup. I'll just make sure to watch for these conditions and when need be, head to the airport with broom and ladder in hand. Gosh I sure miss the hangar space I had. To me, the old saying that you don't fully appreciate something until you no longer have it sure is true. The point made about doing a more extensive preflight is well received and I intend on doing that!
Hey Flyguy, no sign of the Abominable snowman yet but it's still early in the season and it's likely we're in for a snowy winter so he may be right at home here yet. Was hoping to have my wheelskis installed for this season, and it would have been a good year for it. Oh well, maybe for next year. Again, thanks all.
