George looking forward to seeing you in Galvaston. I thank you for your work on this forum. Can't help but get a little diffensive when I hear complaints on how this group does or doesn't do things. I am one of those that are not that active on the forum. I do read, but don't post much. When I have a question I make a phone call. Guess I don't type fast enough. I make that call to friends I have made through the Association. Friends made before computers. The dues are a small price to pay for that kind of information. Those that don't think so should sit with us around a table to just talk 170's. Makes 23 years with my airplane seem like a beginner. So before deciding $45 is a waste of money come to convention with an open mind. You might have a good time

Just so everyone doesn't think I only jump on non-members....
... I sent Bruce a private message telling him that I appeciated him explaining his avatar.

I had always thought that was a sneer.

This thread might be a perfect example of why we want pictures that are integral parts of informational posts to be owned and maintained by the association.

I would ask that when you folks get together at the board meeting, you focus on that one point. As a resource and benefit we should own the pictures that people would like to donate(!) for the hanger and MXlibrary sections. Those could also be included or be the basis for information in printed material as well as the Service Manual (I own one) gets updated over the years.

The more I think about it I'm of the opinion that for this forum the other pictures of peoples planes, where they fly, etc. are really superfluous. These are going to get posted by folks as links to their photopot, yahoo pictures etc. It really isn't something that I think the association needs to worry itself over. Just my $.50

I did such a fantastic job with the shadows in that photo that you can't really tell what I'm doing and thinking can you.

OK OK about every third time the avatar appears I am thinking about that short landing at Petit Jean.

You got me Doug.

How did this smokin hot thread degenerate into being about Bruces avatar? Bruce you need to start your own thread like IOWA. Doug, maybe you could start it for him. :D :D

Bruce's avatar is one of my favorite things about this site. Clever way to put this squawk fest to bed. ;)
