I read with interest the issue of the hanger fire. I had sort of the opposite issue. My L hanger is the end hanger in a row of fairly new hangers and because it is on the end it is also at the end of the over head fire sprinkler system. A few weeks ago freezing temperatures probably cracked the ball valve for draining the sprinkler system. A few days later the ball valve gave way. Low pressure set of the fire alarm and the Fire department showed up. The airport manager opened the hangers to let the fire department in.
I had most of the stuff raise up off of the floor so I had no damage. The guy behind me in the row had a lot of personnel furniture & storage in the hanger which we are not supposed to store in the hanger. He had a lot of damage.
The Sprinkler system water had a lot of rusty mud in it. It probably needed to be flushed anyway. The result for me was I got my hanger cleaned for free. It was getting dusty.

this end is 6" into the ground due to the slope.
we had a little trouble with water also,
and one winter, my entire spot was
an 'ice skating ring.!'
a little excavation, tiling took care of the problem.
