By the time I got off the phone the forums had hanged up on my computer and I lost track of which discussions I had read "since last visit." Therefore I didn't see your origination message in this thread until it was discussed by others, and subsequently it fell into oblivion. I didn't pick up on the subject line as being an offer to chair a forum at the convention...until tonight when I see a new response brought it back to the top of the list and you posted an indication you'd gotten no response.

I've had the same problem of either the page timing out, or the browser hanging up, or I may not have time to look at all posts in the current session, and I lose track of what I've read and haven't read. Is there an option in the forum software somewhere we can set so that the indicator remains "New Post" until we actually open it, or otherwise designate that we don't want to read it?
I always view the forum by doing a search for all threads that have changed since my last visit. This option is available after logging into the forum and clicking on the link at the top right of the message window.
This works for me because I view the forum 7 or 8 times every day so there aren't many to look at. None the less I have walked away from this search result page and returned several hours later and it is still valid because the links are still valid.
At one time I use to save this page as HTML to my desktop so that I could return later. You might try this.
Otherwise threads that have changed that you haven't viewed can be found by looking at each area IE The Hanger. Each post that you haven't viewed usually has a rocking yellow/tan paper indicator in the left column.
Knowing exactly when I last viewed the forum I just look at the dates on the right of the last post. The most recent posts go to the top of the list just under the stickys (sticky's positions doesn't change) so I look at all the threads that have been changed since I was last on.
Hope this helps.
