Funny, but sad. I don't think those quotations were real, but even so, hang on to your wallets! 8)

No. Don't hang onto your wallets. Pull them out and send your membership fees to AOPA..and then tell your congressman WHY you joined and WHY you are watching!.

And along the same lines as the Blakely story, Google has come out with their free High-Speed internet service called TISP:

Be sure to click on the "How it works" link...

I'll have to admit I was about hooked with this story. I had seen Ms. Blakley interviewed on TV earlier in the day and it really was quite believable that she was ready for her fourth attempt! Thankfully I saw the subject line and caught the well executed joke.

i took my private written in 1968
and my instrument in 1983.
got a 70 on the privates and 86 on the instrument!!
this was before all the Q's that would be used on
the test were published before hand!!
goodness, my dad took his written when he was 59
when the Q's were published and got a 100%!!
if he, who graduated from the 8th grade only
can pass these tests,
surely the head of the FAA could!!

Yep. In May 1970 I got a 100 on the Private. In Sep 1970 I got a 98 on the Comm. In Nov. I got a 96 on the CFI. In 1973 I got a 94 on the ATP. Alzheimers is still advancing upon me.
