I'm considering putting a Garmin 430 in my '52 C-170B. I am disappointed to hear that an annuciator is required. Where did you mount your 430? Any chance of posting a picture of your panel?....
Gary,

Here's a website that will answer a lot of questions better than I can: http://www.pennavionics.com/WAAS_UPGRADE.html. Scroll down a bit and you'll find all the details on determining whether an annunciator is required. It isn't large and it tells you important stuff, so it's nice to have it up in your main field of view.

Here's a picture of the new installation:

The lower left has a KX125 NAV/COM and King transponder. Lower right has the audio panel with integral intercom and MBR, and the GNS430W. That's the 430's annunciator in the space below the attitude gyro and altimeter.

Best Regards,

John
