It must be some sort of disease this thing with Jeeps & 170’s. I am on my 16th jeep. Three CJ5’s a CJ2A 4 cylinder flat head and then a V6 , 68 Jeep Commando Three Different M38 A1’s and a 2003 Jeep Rubicon. I currently have a 70 CJ5, 81 CJ5 and 2005 Jeep Rubicon Unlimited. And several other jeeps that passed through my hands. I talked myself out of buying the M38 flat fender I saw at Boyce equipment in Ogden Utah when I passed through there on my way home from Colorado with the 170A on the trailer a couple of years back. (It had all of the Military equipment still on it and was painted in a camouflaged European scheme). I however did purchase two front 90 degree Shackles for an M38A1 which is the first I have found anywhere after looking for them for years. I have a title for another CJ2A which I hope to build some day from scratch. But there have been many jeep frames in my shop in the same condition as your picture. So I am wondering if the brake line in front of the master cylinder is going to interfere with installing the stock steering box?iowa wrote:not to detract from 170's,
but i don't fly much in the winter,
so work faithfully on my '42 willys 'slat' grill wwii jeep.

George can you give some details of that photo. It looks like the truck, if it followed the red arrows, jumped the culvert, spun around and somehow managed to land on the tires on the other side? Do you have the story?

i have a friend that forwards all kinds of stuff like this to me.
i don't know the story
(heck, it might be fake, or a posed shot)
but if true,
i think you assumptions above are correct!
truth is stranger than fiction,
and the above certainly falls within the realms of possibility.
when one really thinks about it,
it becomes scarier and scarier,
this guy was very lucky

That's because fiction has to make sense.

Dave-
I think Flyguy meant he wanted to see a full size picture of your polished 170 not that old P-51.
