I just wondered while reading through this list - - What is the reference " a Lindy" meant? Too bad I couldn't find an 'official' photo of the GOLD Grand Champion 170.
Congratulations - kudos - - alam sala alecum - - muy bien etc etc. I am really proud to consider Steve a friend. What an inspiration these kinds of friends and their planes bring to us who are sorta sittin in the shade too much of the time drinkin Becks or Busch! (or other people's St. Pauli Girl!) Steve's dedication to perfection has shown just how beautiful the Classic 170 is. Thanks !!!

I was priveleged enough to see 52C go through the last couple years of work at Harry Delicker's place. It is the only "stock" 170 that actually made me wonder about conversions vs originals.
I was almost a commuter customer of Harry's while going through the protracted process of installing his LONG range fuel tanks to supplement the 180hp Lyc's thirst. Fortunatley I was born and raised bout 20 miles north in Kingburg so always had a place to stay.
But, mine was already converted so that internal squable did no go far.
Yes. almos ALL of the skins were replaced, that is why it polishes out so well. It also came into Victory Aero at Reiw Hillview not too long ago while I was putting on the finishing,?, touches to mine. Are they ever done.
Also be sure to notice that little yellow Cub that has been there for some years now. It is not a J3, but an older 45hp J2. There is a short article about in in the latest, that I know of, Pacific Flyer.
If ya ever need an afternoons seminar on random elements of aviation history, just try giving Harry a call with a short question.
Best Aviation history education I have ever received.

Re: Winning 170A
If you get a chance, there's a nice article about Steve's 170A in the Jan/Feb issue of Plane and Pilot. Steve does a nice job of recognizing the Assn., Cleo and Louise Bickford, and some other guy named George
Congrats again, Steve!

Congrats again, Steve!
