Post by tshort »

This month's Cessna Pilot's Association mag has 2 C-170's in flight on the cover!
Nice looking airplanes ... hope those guys are members over here :)

Over the years I've observed several cases of TIC170A members being interviewed/photographed with their 170's..... and in each case, even tho' they mentioned other organizations... they failed to include TCI170A as organizations to which they belonged.
If ever you find yourself the subject of an interview (which is complimentary and not detracting)... please mention the value you receive from membership here.

I frequently put in plugs for the association when people have 170 related questions on the CPA forums ... not sure if it helps or not.

I wonder if the CPA would omit mention of another association in their magazine?

I have the magazine and will try and post the pic; the owners names are mentioned but I don't have the magazine in front of me right now...

I gave up on the CPA a while ago. I just didn't find very many relevant articles on the 170. They really like their 210s over there.

Yep. Although they are more legitimately interested in serving their members than the Cessna Owner Organization, which I felt to be merely a thinly-veiled avenue for advertisers. They block references to each other, so it's likely they'd block one to us.

While I do not have a copy of the Cessna Pilots magazine I understand that the cover photo is the very same cover photo on Doug's 2008 Cessna 170 calendar. 8) way 8)

Yeah - the calendar was sitting on my desk and I mistook it for the magazine!
Guess I don't need to post the cover pic any more!

Thomas
Don't worry Tom. A couple years ago I got a call from a TIC170A officer asking if I had mailed the calendar to him. I assured him I had and after some digging he realized that it had been on his desk all along, but he had mistaken it for the 170 News.

Now it's being confused with the CPA mag! I must be moving up in the world!
