The 2008, Petit Jean 170 Fly-in, will be April 25th & 26th.

Fifteen miles west of Petit Jean is Mt Nebo and 15 miles further west is Mt Magazine. Mt Magazine has a newly constructed Lodge & Restaraunt. I'm told that a shuttle will come down to Danville Airport U32. I'm thinking it might be fun to fly over to Mt Magazine for a dinner of something.

Petit Jean, Mt Magazine, and Mt Nebo, are called the Tri-Peaks something.

Dave,

Put me down for one of the campsites at the airport for Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. I'm feeling O'natural this year. A trip over to Mt. Magazine sounds like fun and I would be in for that. :D

Hi Dave,

Please put me down for a campsite for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. Not a cabin but a campsite.

I will be bringing New England Clam Chowder.

Gar,

Are you going to bring your tub to Petit Jean so we can have one of your hot tub parties at the fly in? :D

Just booked a room at Mather Lodge at Petit Jean for April 24, 25, 26, 2008.

http://www.petitjeanstatepark.com/lodge/, 1-800-264-2462.

Jaime, the reservations person, was very helpful. She said Petit Jean State Park is having their Wildflower Weekend the same weekend as our 170 Club fly-in. There are rooms blocked in the club's name so now is the time to make your reservations as the lodge is already pretty much booked up except for our rooms. All the cabins are already reserved.

Let's keep our fingers crossed for good weather.

It's not for sale!

I was able to get a reservation on line for a rustic overnight cabin today (3-2) so maybe there are still a few left.

Are reservations a requirement for a camp site?

No reservations needed for the campsites. The airport manager emailed today, assuring me that he had all sites blocked for us Fri & Sat. The campsites are $20 / night. Except for the record foot of snow yesterday, spring is here! Looking forward to that New England Clam Chowder. We might need to talk more about that, Traci can make a meal around Clam Chowder.

Looks like this fly-in is going to get started on Thursday and I'm all for that! I'm home a week early this year, so Mr & Mrs Gar won't have to help us rush up there. Gar, a big ole southern fish fry sure sounds good. Reckon how many Crappie we'd need? Would northern folks like our Crappie, Cat Fish, n Hush Puppies? Might run that by Traci!

If you are new to this forum and want to know anything about this fly-in or the characters that go there, please ask anyone.

We fish for crappie up here, and Mississippi river catfish is a personal favorite! I'll have to figure out what Minnesota delicacy we can bring down there. Walleye is the no-brainer, but I'm not sure if it really comes from here when you buy it in the store.
