Des Moines to Lakeland / Sun and Fun

Post by n8340a »

I am planning a trip from Des Moines to Sun and Fun next week. I'll probably leave Tuesday the 8th and start back on Saturday. My 52 170B is VFR only so with Spring weather, should be an adventure! I'm wondering...

1. If anyone else is going and how we might hook up?
2. If anyone is going along my line of flight, would be great to not fly the whole thing solo...
3. Suggested fuel and maybe overnight stops neccesary enroute.

Thanks!

As of now I am not planning to go to Sun-n-Fun. However, I live in Tupelo, Ms (TUP) which is not very far off your direct route. It is about 500 miles from you which would make it halfway. You may stay over if you need to due to weather or if that is all you feel like flying the first day on either way of your trip. Corinth, Ms (CRX) has fuel for $4.10 and $4.05 cash. With a little tailwind you should be able make CRX. It is 469 miles from Y76. Let me know.
