What was the connection with Rolls Royce & Continental

Post by Patrick Phillips »

I found an Old AD 72-25-02 Rolls Royce (1971) Limited....Its in Regards to the oil pump drive gear 23403 the same gear in our C145 / O300's...It has to do with checking Backlash ....I don't belive the lash they are talking about is between the teeth of the 2 gears but between the square drive and the Cam gear square drive....why else would this AD refer only to the drive gear and not the driven gear....The driven gear doesn't seem to be effected by this AD....My drive gear is extremelly sloppy where is fits in the cam gear and the square on the gears drive has wear on the corners.....I can't imagine anybody checks this closely since the would have to remove the gear from the pump housing and fit it in the cam gear by its self.....I would love to Read the Rolls Royce Service Bulletin No. T200 but can't fine a copy of it.....anyone else got any cooments about this, especially the connection between Rolls and TCM.

RR had a licensing agreement to produce some models TCM engines for the commonwealth market.

An originality nut (mostly) for the right reasons. ;)
