That's what blue plastic tarps and visqueen are for.....keep the red stuff off of the interior....works good too..

Are you referring to the planes pictured or any airplane full of moose?

Personally I can't decide if I like the all natural scheme MIT has going or the natural cowl/rear paint combo N914A has. But they are both pretty dam nice in my book. Sorry Corey your 170 has what appears to me in the photos as to much shiny paint for my taste and the Rat Plane Catagory.

Way to go guys! I'm recovering from 2 weeks of archery elk hunting in MT and was feeling pretty sore because of it, but after seeing your pictures it brought back memories of my trips hunting to AK. Nothing compares! Wet, tired, wet, cold, wet, hungry, wet, sore muscles, wet, and too many bugs. Ain't it fun?! Must be cause we keep going back.

Most Alaskan hunters hunt both for sport and to put meat in the freezer. I'll be the first to admit that, while I won't go hungry if I don't shoot a moose and get most of my enjoyment just getting away and out in the boonies, it sure is nice to have the freezer full. If successful, the price per pound works out pretty good. I fish for halibut on the same principal. Summer before last my wife and I put about 200 lbs of halibut in the freezer that,(after gas from Anchorage to Seward and back, two charter tickets, and an overnite stay in a B&B) worked out to a bit under $2.00/lb. It's looking like we will have to go halibut fishing next summer to restock.

Nice moose guys. Corey, Sam is a good buddy of mine and I can't wait to fly down for some rainbow fishing. Sounds like you guys had a great trip. I shot a 52 incher myself, although we went in by boat this year. Cheers, Bryan.

No, I didn't make it on those trips. I did try to fly them in a cooler full of beer, but the wx never cooperated. Now that I live in Fairbanks it sure seems like a long way to go, mostly due to wx. Sam and I floated the upper Kobuk in 2003 and I got a 9' grizzly but no moose or caribou. Caught loads of sheefish and had a pack of wolves howling so close to our tents that you could feel it in your chest. Next year the plan is to go north of the Brooks after some caribou. Interested? Should be a good time. Bryan.
