who landed off airport in wyoming in 1996?
Coming back from Sturgis in '96 on our Harleys, a C-170 lost a fuel cap over Wyoming returning from Oskkosh and landed by the road.Little did I know that I would 10 years later be a member of the 170 club. If you are out there, I was on one of the three Harley's that pulled up alongside the field you were in. Small world.

A missing fuel cap sitting in the low pressure area of the wing can suck a lot of gas overboard, fast.
Don't know of any 170's but I know of a few other airplanes that have been lost over it. Preflights are important.
