I'll bet Studebaker could have figured out a way to remove the starter pinion without splitting the case  Russ Farris

OK Guys, I believe that we are going to persue the purchase of an O-300D engine the we have come across recently. Can anyone tell me if there is an STC for the install of the D engine on our 55', if so, where might we get the STC before we move forward on the purchase of the engine. Ill search the maintence forum for more info also. Thanks for all of your help!!!!!! Seth

Seth! Where have you been? :!: :?:

The 170 Association has the STC for this and as a member you can get it C H E A P. (That's because the cheapest guy known other than one of the founders developed and donated it to the association.)

Remember, tho'..... you'll need a different prop and spinner too!
