UPDATES FROM THE CONVENTION
I think one of the things that I enjoyed, the most, about the Branson Convention was getting up in the morning (I'm a morning person and no one else in my family is) and finding some of you drinking coffee in the Lobby or Breakfast Room. Then everyone drifted in and got to visit, while eating eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, biscuits AND gravey, until there was just too many or I was too stuffed. Yeh I really enjoyed that! Of course I had to hang out by GAR's side to learn the proper goings on and edicate and all. One really needs proper training if he wants to grow up properly. Now I did like judging the planes also. But I hope ya'll have a week of great breakfastest!
Oh the reason I was thinking about that is that there was a computer that attendees could use to give us updates. So I'm requesting that, and looking forward too, reading post from the Breakfast Club, at the Convention. Thanks Dave!

We are going to fly Dave. One way or another we will get there in between the drops. (Glad I was just able to borrow a 496 with xm weather for the trip)

Re: UPDATES FROM THE CONVENTION
Way to go Bruce!
I heard from John Hess today. He's in Chicago, traveling by pickup.
We had nasty wx yesterday and not good forecast for tonight. But good thereafter. Here's hoping it blows out past you for your run west.
Looks like we may have 32 folks who plan on stopping in Owatonna on their way to the convention. Wonderful!
Dave, we''ll keep you updated on the events. Julius is working hard to put on a good show. Talked with him today - I think his comment was "Keep me away from any firearms and I'll be just fine!".
All you folks attending will enjoy the North Shore and the wonderful MN hospitality!
See you all soon.

Blasting off west here in about 2 hours. Running right a T-storm over Cleveland headed for Pittsburg. Will head north to Bradford PA and hopefully get behind it and get into Ohio at least but we will go as far as we can today.

Re: UPDATES FROM THE CONVENTION
Wish I was on my way as well, but I'm stuck in a hotel room near Schiphol. Been working for 5 weeks, and I've seen only one single piston fly overhead. Got another 6 weeks to go and I have no idea as to what I was thinking when I agreed to come here. As well now I think I'm coming down with a serious case of Heinekentosis. I'll be missing you all and I'm hopeful that AR Dave gets that new clubhouse financed soon so that we won't have to wait too long for another get together. I know that everyone is going to have a good time, safe flying everyone.

Re: UPDATES FROM THE CONVENTION
Just to add Ina's and my two cents into the "wish we were there" crowd. The 170 is still being worked on in Mena and still not finished so we won't be making it to the convention this year.
You guys have a great time, as we know you will. We flew thru Duluth several years ago and stopped at Sky Harbor. It's a really neat little airport. There were a couple of Twin Beech 18s on floats and the folks that maintained them let us climb up into them. Nice guys, gave us a beer then took us to the hotel.
Hope the weather cooperates and everyone makes it there on time.
Fly safe!

Re: UPDATES FROM THE CONVENTION
Well we made it to Porter County Municipal Airport(KVPZ), Valparaiso, Indiana. We barely got in before the great wall of t-storms hit. Not as far as I wanted to get but we did pretty OK.
If your ever around these parts stop in at KVPZ. It's a great airport. They meet us on the ramp. with a courtesy car for the overnight. Had maps and lists of hotels with "airport rates". Would have put us in the hanger but they had just filled it up. Haven't bought gas yet but I'll bet it's a good price.
Oh well 5 hours out of Worthington MN where I'll be visiting a great aunt. Won't get Kyle and Becky Wolfs as I'd hoped but will join them and what ever crew makes it there for breakfast Sunday AM and then fly into Duluth together. Weather is supposed to be OK the rest of the way. We will see what tomorrow morning brings.

Re: UPDATES FROM THE CONVENTION
Hey Bruce just called and he is close to Kyle and Becky's but is going to stay there for the night.
Here on this website ( link below)it looks like all area northeast of Kansas City is going to have some wx pretty soon. Hope it isn't too crapy for those flying in tomorrow.

Wow that is quite a lengthy string! ! If that is too cumbersome just "Google" wundermap and get in that way. The map is really interactive and lots of fun if the acdcess is DSL. Dialup users , it will take some time.
Deana and I wish we could be there with youall. We will try to have some fun even though we arent there.......... OLE GAR
