......after our get together at Kyle and Becky's the next morning insted of going home we made a short trip to visit a dear friend of mine that had alot to do with me flying. After many years of not flying and all but given up on it he bought my son's intro to flight.....and gave us all the bug again. When we got there we found the PT-17 still in the hangar, a little older and covered with dust. It has not been up in the air for several years now. My friend has had a battle with some health issues and is not current. Boy that old bird can take me back in time in a split second....and the memory of chasing the sunsets all come back .....I hope someday a young man will get in that old PT-17 and make it roar again.....
Here are some pictures of then and now..............

Dubya, the only thing about taking a group picture is John saying in the background "Dad what's that on the top of your head? I bet I can put an apple up there and split it with a arrow" "Mon are you shrinking?" !! Was that john years ago, he has his thumb up in both pics? Ron

I see you guys been teasing me while I have been working hard for the man all day.......
Yes that is John in the first pic when he was 2 1/2 years old. I was no longer flying at the time of the pic formula, diapers, etc etc. but just had to go and look at it again. Boy who would have ever thought that the plane would still be there after this many years for another look.
George, I have a stache so long, I can't even remember what I look like without one
