Omaha Beach
Went there today, very moving, impressive. Any members in the association with relatives that had a hand in the assault?

Hi Jim, My father-in-law was taken prisoner on Juno Beach. He says that he will always remember the feel of a 9mm lugar barrel stuck in his ribs when he was captured. The veterans group is sure getting smaller these last few years.

Re: Omaha Beach
We are losing WW-2 veterans faster today ...than we were during the war. They truly are "the greatest generation."

Re: Omaha Beach
Recently after the deaths of a long time retired teacher and another a father of a long time friend of mine, I found out through their obituaries that they were WWII Vets. Of course their age should have been a clue but all to many times it just doesn't click. I wish I'd known.
Most Veterans of all wars or conflicts don't wear their service on their sleeve. Kind of a shame in many respects.
Thanks to all who serve in any capacity.
