Robert
One of my projects this last year is a 2 mil dollar digester making gas from pig poop!!!!!!!! When I get time I post some pics but so far we have been running a 180 kw generator 24/7 and selling the power back on the grid.

And they say pigs can't fly......that's like saying there is no Santa

Once again I'm amazed at the diversity of the people I've meet through this association.

W. from what I gather I have a friend who is having a gas spending 2 mil playing with pig poop. Shocking. 8O

The only trouble with Bob Eilers solution is that methane has even less BTUs than propane.

If you're scavenging the methane why is it being flared?

The flare is and over flow for right now. It is after the generator and boiler. Part of the process is to qualify for carbon credits so we can't release the raw gas. this is so new that we didn't know when we started how much gas we would end up with. We still don't as we are tweeking all the time. I have to admit 2 years ago I didn't know anything about digesters but I am on a fast learning curve, feels like I'm back in college.
