Believe it or not every now and then, we see lenticular clouds clear out here in the mid west....Brad

If memory serves, shortly after WWII there was a guy over in Bishop,CA, with a Lockheed P-38 who had a cloud seeding contract with L.A water. He claimed that when conditions were just right on the east side of the Sierras he could get that P-38 up to about 40K with both engines feathered.
