Re: A Day in Fort Worth Tx
Just so you can say you have seen it I would go to the stockyards and in the same complex Billy Bob's worlds largest bar.
There is an area, I don't know the name, that has a great art museum, a nice science center for the kid, an Imax theater, and I think something to do with sports all within walking distance of each other.

Re: A Day in Fort Worth Tx
Holy Cow guys there is alot of STUFF there to see. Thanks for all the ideas.
i am hoping to get all the stars lined up and come down around the7-8 of Jan to look at a C-206 I ran across it last summer and we are getting closer on price. Looking for an A&P close to Meacham that can look at it with me so if you guys know of one let me know. We are close enough to come and look at it anyway and it would be nice to get out of here for a couple days. My son will still be on college break and my wife would like to go anywhere where it's warm
If all works out I will sell my 57 c-172, i will hate to see it go becuase it has alot of nice stuff on it and runs really well, it's just note a true 4 place which I really would like in this stage of my life. I will still remain a member because someday my son and I would like to rebuild a rag wing 170.... besides I really have enjoyed ths group, there are some very wonderful people here, common everyday hard working stiffs just like me that still call a spade a spade....I enjoy that. I was tinking about putting a long hose on that 206 and I could be the in-flight fuel-tanker for all the 170's
.
If I come I will have to practice on how I talk and try not to say "you betcha" to often and use the "fixin" more. My sister lives in Oklahoma and at first I thought "Boy there must be a lot of things broke" cause it was fixin this and fixin that, I got it down now it's "getting ready to" and then there is "u-awl" now i haven't got this one down yet because some people say "u-awl" and then some people say "awl-u-awl" ad I have figured out the difference yet........... and then I just pray I don't run across a guy that talks like the "Flyguy" I had to re-read his post several times just to figure out what he had said
I will let you know when for sure, It would be nice to meet up with some of you if possible
Thanks again for all the ideas

Paul, the message is not stuck. It is a special feature of the forums for Mac computer users. The message stays in your outbox until Willie opens it. When it's gone you know if he's gotten it yet.4583C wrote:Willie

Re: A Day in Fort Worth Tx
There is a small, but interesting, aviation museum on the southeast corner of Meacham Field. Access is from a city street---about 34th I think. Might ask to be sure its open. C R Smith/American Airlines Museum out in far east FW near D/FW--where AA headquarters are located by the Fort Worth Air Traffic Control Center. Gotta give Joe T Garcia's Mexican Food Rest. a try up just off north Main st on Commerce (2 blks east of n Main) near 23rd st. Plenty of good steak houses, BBQ, etc. Be sure to let us know when you finalize your trip so maybe some of us can get together with you if you have time & want to do so.

Dave is intentionally not opening that message thus jamming your outbox and confusing you. All probably because you refer to him as ArkieDave.4583C wrote: Is that why the one I sent to ArkieDave Aug. 08 still in there too?

Vintage Flying Museum is off of NW 38th street in North FW @ Meacham Field. We have a B-17, B-25, DC-3 and about a dozen other aircraft on display. Let me know when you want to come visit, and if I am in town I will meet you there. I'm doing winter maintenance on the B-17 and B-25 at the moment.

Pat, thanks for clarifying that for Bill. I was too busy (or lazy) at the moment to check the specific address of the museum. Hope things are going OK with you. Haven't seen you lately @ GPM.
