After blowing snow for an hour and not seeing much progress, I've elected to move inside, poor a little bit of Crown in a glass and dream a little bit of Petit Jean and all you guys down south basking in the warmth!

Anyone heard from AR Dave lately? I don't recall when the wedding was - hope he's still got a few $$ left to pay his electric bill so he can chat with us online!

How many days till spring????

Kyle:
It was a misserable high 60's today south of Atlanta but will be low 30's tomorrow morning. I bet the Crown made the snow go away for a little while. I hope you and Becky are doing well. I have tried to make it to Petit Jean several times and something always happens. Maybe this year.

We still have Duluth weather on our home pages, left over from the convention. Yesterday it was 11 degrees with a -13 chill factor there. Too cold for us Southerners.

Hope all of y'all have a very Merry Christmas,
Harold & Carolyn

AR Dave,

Will you even let George come? One thing in his favor, I understand they now have lights which will help his normal after dark arrival.

Merry Christmas to all.

They installed light's and then lightning hit and fried the whole system. :(
However, there is now a self serve fuel tank/pump up there.

If it is George's birthday and we have candles for a cake, then there should be enough to light the entire mile long runway!

OK - it just dawned on me why this group doesn't find that funny!

Well I guess it's time for me to chime in here since most of you probably thought I'd fell off the map somewhere. :?:

Kyle, I can't tell you have sorry I am to hear about your robbery.  After I get past the thoughts of acting out that .357 ventilation thing that Gar suggested on the jerks, it reminds me of how quickly life can take a turn and how thankfull I am that neithor you nor Becky were hurt. Anytime drug addicts are involved all reasoning goes out the window. Tools can be replaced, but we want to see you and Becky at Petit Jean this year.

I will have to cast our vote for June 11-12 because Ginger's school doesn't end until the last week of May. The little smarty pants will have a Masters of Accounting Degree in hand.

The last time we were up on the mountain we did a low level recon of the fuel pumps and they look great. Good thing they weren't close to the runway lights wiring. 8O I quess we will have to rely on the fire flies to light the way for George if they aren't repaired by then. Do they have "auto land" systems for 170's.

To all our Petit Jean Friends - things aren't looking good for the Fly-In, these days. Traci and I have discussed it over and over and the fact is, she feels guilted into having it. She loves everyone and appreciates everyone's friendship's but she just doesn't look forward to it at all. So for now - I need to drop it! I'm thinking after the kids are out of High School and we aren't so busy things will be a lot different. Actually I have deep anxiety about how much different it's going to be. Traci and I are struggling (have for 23 yrs) but we've got to drop some stresses and make some changes asap, towards our future without kids! Guess that should be under another topic though? Thanks and hopefully it won't be too long!

Dave

My 2 cents.......spend it with your kids!!!!!!!! They are gone b/4 you know it ......ps you will have and anxiety attack, but that's ok ...just means you're a good parent :D

Dave, you and Traci have been SO UNSELFISH and so GENEROUS to us all who have come to Petit Jean!

There is NO REASON that you two should feel burdened simply because you've shown us such a wonderful place for us all to fly into and meet with each other!

We can do this, and we should do this as an activity that does not require you to give up your other obligations and commitments.

Now...... let's all think about this and see if we can find a way to put together a fly in at Petit Jean without loading up on Dave and Traci. Other than a bit of ground-transportation....what else do we need? Many of us bring our camping gear and camp out, and that may be all that's necessary. Perhaps those who might better enjoy the cabins of the park and a tour of the area might come up with some ideas for ground trans???
