170 Convention
Some 170 folks and myself are having a argument. I said the 170 Convention is this week. They say thats just a rumor and everyone is at a house of ill repute because you never see any convention pictures. Help me win this argument!

Re: 170 Convention
Well Mike the problem is we are all having such a good time at the convention that we haven't had enough time to post pictures.
Below we have the crowd outside the hanger during the auction. Lots more inside. Below is just one of the lines of 170s neatly parked. I believe at the highest point with some coming and going we probably had 35 on the field at any one time and it we were really counting carefully we probably saw nearly 40 170s all together. Below is a typical scene at a tour. This on is at the start of the Waco factory. Below is a picture of our favorite moderator discussing some obscure detail of the 170. Love ya George.
These are just four of the few hundred my wife has taken. It would take a few hours to post them all. And that is time we just don't have when we can be visiting with old and new friends around the flight line or hotel. If you have been to a convention you will understand and if you haven't joined us hopefully you will some time and only then will you appreciate how busy we can be.
Woops I'm late for the final event, the closing banquet.

Yes from all reports you'll see quite a few unless it doesn't stop raining.

W. In respect for my partner I did not have the sticker on the window. However 7A is clearly in a class by itself.

Re: 170 Convention
Just thought i'd put my 2 cents in on the convention. I saw some nice numbers for airspeed too but since I was flying low under most of clouds after a short stint on top with no ground in sight my numbers were not as good as Bruce's. Just wanted to let everyone know we really had a great convention. One of the first things my wife noticed were the many spouses that showed up. She said "this sure is different from the EAA" Thats because the 170 association has a family friendly approach to their conventions. Lots of activities for the women and kids. I am always amazed at the job our convention hosts do at providing a wonderful experience for all who attend. The Dee's were no exception they did a great job. We sure got to meet a lot of fine people and learned more about our airplanes and thats what a convention is all about in my opinion. So Thanks to all who helped. Pam and Bill.

Re: 170 Convention
Have to agree with Pam and Bill. I had been to conventions in the 80's and renewed many old acquaintances. My new (7 yrs.) wife has never been to a convention before, or much of any other fly-in's. She felt very welcome, which says a lot for our group. Thanks all.
